Clubs and Extracurricular Activities
Permission forms signed by parent/guardian are required for participation in all clubs and activities.
Aerospace Club

- To develop a HAB team and learn about building satellites.
Animal Rescue Club

- Location: Ms. Snodgrass’ room
- To fundraise and promote awareness for animals in shelters or foster care.
Battle of the Books Team
Juanita Deal
- First Meeting - Monday afternoonsin the Media Center
- Battle of the Books is a countywide competition for students in elementary, middle and high school. Students read the Sunshine State books (announced in May, 2025) which serve as the topics for the battle questions.
- Students form teams, identify who will read which books, discuss books, and often set up times to meet virtually. Students serve on teams and prepare for virtual quiz with ultimate goal to qualify for countywide Battle of the Books event.
Best Buddies Club

- Meeting: September 30, 4:15-5:30 pm in Mr. Howell’s room
- Best Buddies Club works to end the social and physical isolation of students with intellectual and developmental disabilities by creating friendship with peers.
Cheerleading Team

- JMS Cheerleading has two teams: Competition Cheer and Basketball Cheer
- JMS Competition Cheer: Team will compete at three FCDA competitions and at Nationals in April.
- JMS Basketball Cheer - The team will cheer at girls and boys basketball games.
- Both teams will participate in school-wide events.
Chess Club

- Learn how to play chess and improve skills.
Color Guard

- Color Guard is a performance-based activity that focuses on flag spinning and tossing, in choreographed routines to music. This club performs alongside the music department at multiple school and community events throughout the fall
Compass Club

- Club serves as a supportive environment for students to find their best way to communicate with peers through interactive fundraisers. Students will work with peers on school events, having fun and enhancing our campus community.
Drone Club

- To promote interest in the sciences, have fun and be a part of a competition team
Florida Future Educators of America Club

- Choice Program Opportunity – Dwyer High School has an Early Childhood Teacher Education Choice Academy .
- Math Mondays with FFEA (8-9am) – If you need help with math skills or you want to help others with math.
- Location: Aronovitz’ room
- Purpose - Are you interested in learning more about the teaching profession? This new club will spread the good news about being an educator, learn about the rewards of the profession and help students discover the joy of inspiring others. This pre-collegiate program is perfect for students who want to explore a future in education and make a difference.
HOSA - Future Health Professionals

- HOSA is an international student-led organization. HOSA’s mission is to promote career opportunities in the healthcare industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people. HOSA provides a unique program of leadership development, motivation, and recognition exclusively for middle school, high school and collegiate students enrolled in health science education and biomedical science programs or have interests in pursuing careers in health professions. Open to all students.
Jazz Band

- Students in this club are part of the Band Program at JMS. They are selected based upon audition.
Mariner Mermaids - SeaPerch Underwater Robotics Club

- Location: Classroom and garden/outdoor mini pool area
- Girls at JMS will have the opportunity to learn about electronics, motors, and SeaPerch Robotics while using the engineering design process. Beyond building and operating robots, club participants will train to compete in underwater agility competitions where they will maneuver their robots around obstacles in a timed mission.
Minecraft Mornings Club

- The Minecraft Club offers students the opportunity to learn to play this dynamic game, participate in adventures, and develop team-building skills.
National Junior Honor Society - NJHS

- Meetings - Monthly in the Media Center
- NJHS - The purpose of NJHS is to recognize, challenge and guide students who demonstrate the 5 pillars of NJHS through leadership and service project opportunities both at school and in the local community. The JMS Chapter of the NJHS is an official member of the nationally recognized NJHS organization. Members will coordinate service projects both on and off campus.
- Membership: Students are invited to apply to NJHS in 3rd 9 weeks of 7th grade. Invitation to membership is based on scholarship qualifications as well as the pillars of NJHS (leadership, service, character and citizenship). Students submit an application and once evaluated, those who meet the qualifications are invited to become members.
Paddle Board Club

- Students must provide their own transportation to Blueline.
- Paddleboard Club is a fun day out on the water. The club paddles a loop on the Intracoastal Waterway around Burt Reynolds Park.
ROX Club

Science Fair Team/Club

- Do you love science, research and competition? Science Fair Club combines it all and offers a chance to research a topic that interests you, compete against other middle school students and work to qualify for the state science fair with a potential of awards and scholarships.
SECME/STEM Club

- Students work as a team to prepare for the SECME Olympiad, a creative engineering event offering competition against other middle schools.
Step Team

- The Step Team will perform for school-related activities, sports, rallies, etc.
Student Council

Science Fair Club

Want to be involved with this exciting competition which offers the chance to compete against other students in Palm Beach County and if you qualify, head to the state Science Fair with the potential to earn awards and scholarships? Students will have the opportunity to participate in the Palm Beach County regional science fair in December.

WOW Christian Club

Yoga Club
